Kavita Kané is the bestselling author of six novels. Today, she is considered a revolutionary force in Indian writing, mainly because she has brought in feminism where it is most needed-in mythology.
All her seven novels are based on lesser-known women in Indian mythology-Karna’s Wife (2013); Sita’s Sister (2014); Menaka’s Choice (2015); Lanka’s Princess (2016); The Fisher Queen’s Dynasty (2017); Ahalya’s Awakening (2019); and now Sarasvati’s Gift.
For one who confesses that the only skill she knows is writing, her literary journey expectedly began as a journalist, with twin post-graduate degrees in English literature and mass communication and journalism from the University of Pune. With a career spanning two decades in Magna Publishing and DNA, and as assistant editor in the Times of India, she now devotes her time to being a full-time author.
